About Jonathan
Thanks for stopping by! While most photographers use a glamorous action shot for their "About Me" page (you know the one with the camera/lens front and center), I figure you deserve something unique. Here's me in my happy place--behind a basket of chips and salsa!
Onto the details: I've been taking photos of one kind or another since I was 12 years old. This interest eventually led to receiving a BA in Professional Photography (with an emphasis in Motion Pictures/Video) from the former Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, CA. #BrookiesForever After a few years of working in Hollywood as a Boom Operator, I felt a calling to serve God in parish ministry, so I headed off to graduate school and an MDiv. from Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary (KY). After serving the Presbyterian Church (USA) as a "Rev." for over 22 years, I retired to further pursue my love of telling stories through photography. It's my love for God and the beauty of creation that continue to inspire my images.
Published Work
My images have appeared in numerous publications including Minilab Developments and PC(USA) publications such as The Presbyterian Outlook, Presbyterians Today magazine, These Days, Presbyterian Youth Connection curriculum, as well as Louisville Seminary’s Mosaic magazine and materials promoting the ministry of the seminary. I have also photographed denominational events namely Montreat Youth Conferences, the Presbyterian Youth Triennium, and the 225th General Assembly (on behalf of the Presbyterian Outlook).
Samples of published work can be found here
Let's work together!
I love what I do and would love to provide images for your next project. I'm available to photograph your event/meeting (no weddings please), ad campaign, etc., or provide you with stock images for social media, your publication, article, or to include in worship. Send me an email and let's discuss.
